Ren Riz is a self taught producer based in Melbourne. He began honing his craft in 2001, fueled by a love for 90s hip-hop and 80s electro/Pop. In his mid teens he started collecting vinyl, synths and anything audio related for his bedroom studio in his home town of Hobart. Ren has so far released an album and a 7″ single under the pseudonym Crytearia; an avenue of instrumental hiphop in the vein of Dj Shadow & RJD2. Although Ren has been writing electronic music parallel to hip-hop, it wasn’t until late 2008 that he decided to focus on and release his electro work under the new name Ren Riz (a shortening of his real name, Rennie Rizzolo). Ren Riz’s music is like a slice of orange in a glass of Campari – you don’t know what you’re missing out on ’till you try it!
